UKHO All Staff Conference 2011
Brief:
Building on the successful Leadership Conference which we handled for UKHO’s senior management early in the year, CT-Live was tasked with creating an event for the 900-strong staff, with the caveat, create an event to the organisation’s usual world-class standards but with economy at the forefront of our minds. The All Staff Conference laid out a five year vision and we were an integral part of creating and delivering those messages. The UKHO is a Government Trading Fund and part of the MoD, operating in the global defence and merchant marine markets, and has been charting the world’s oceans for over 200 years.
Solution:
We worked closely with the Corporate Communications team and developed a creative and resilient approach, running three sessions back-to-back during the day for the entire organisation. We took over a local sports centre and using a quality rear projection system, live camera relay and large screens created a stunning production set with intimate cabaret seating for 300 delegates at any one time.
Working closely with the client, we scripted and produced a number of CGI animations, set to powerful motivation music, which were interspersed with live presentations to set out the UKHO’s ambitions. From show-calling to coach logistics, we provided an end-to-end service on the day to support all the communications work we provided pre event.
Results:
The content, delivery style and tone of the overall event was so successful that it elicited a flurry of activity on the UKHO intranet post event and lifted the morale during a time when it is difficult for so many Government related organisations. “We have never achieved such generous feedback, thank you for all your support, guidance and creative input,” wrote the Communications Manager.
